Our Story

Jacky Yu, Founder and Celebrity Chef of the Xi Yan Group, epitomizes a new generation of creative culinary artists, who have continuously challenged and changed the concept of Chinese Asian Cuisines. He is popularly nick-named Hong Kong’s Jamie Oliver. As a TV celebrity, author of 6 best-selling cook books to date, food critic, lifestyle commentator, television artist, and one of Asia’s best loved cooking instructors, Jacky has articulated how our lifestyles can be inspired by food as an extension to our artistic expression.

 

Jacky is also a television artist, having hosted the 3 prime-time television series “Gourmet Power Zoom” for TVB featuring over 30 editions. In a publication by Phaidon, he was selected as one of the world’s top ten master chefs among who include Gordon Ramsay and Alan Duccase.

Our flagship restaurant at the newly revamped Maxwell Chambers Suites. Xi Yan Maxwell, which will be its new name, is ready for dining and offers a fresh new dining experience with 3 exciting social spaces: Private Dining, General Dining and Bar. The Maxwell Chambers Suites is a conserved heritage building, and a charming and relaxed environment awaits to captivate you. Each dining experience will take you on a different culinary journey – whether it’s indulging in our carefully curated private dining signature menu, enjoying a casual comfort meal or simply to rest and relax at our bar over tapas and drinks.

Only the freshest of ingredients are used each day as preparation is specific to the number of reserved guests. Our Chef set menus are carefully arranged by our Chefs and is changed on a weekly basis. 

 

Winning the recent title for ‘Most Creative Menu’ by Wine and Dine Magazine for 2014 Top Restaurant in Singapore is testament to our commitment towards creative and quality food.

The award-winning Xi Yan Group makes Xi Yan Shaw its first casual dining destination in Singapore in October 2014. Xi Yan Shaw showcases Jacky’s creative and iconic reinvention of Chinese cuisine, while making gourmet cuisine accessible and affordable to diners who care for exquisiteness even in wholesome everyday dining.

 

With a wide spread of over 40 dishes to choose from, diners have flexibility from simple lunches to hearty dinners. Don’t miss our contemporary signature dishes that have kept our fans coming back for more, and at one of the most unique and unforgettable dining destinations.

In January 2019, Katong opens it's doors offering the same experience over in the Eastern heartlands of Singapore and is currently closed as its premises at i12 Katong undergoes a massive renovation.
