I heard about Xi Yan from my sister-in-law who loves your food. She has whipped up many delicious cuisine from Jacky Yu's cook books. We have also been to Xi Yan restaurant many times, and we love the food. We are very excited that Jacky has a new cook book! His recipes are always unique, easy to prepare and very delicious. We cannot wait to own a copy of his book.

Xi Yan never fails to surprise me with its interpretation of the Chinese cuisine. It is refine, exquisite and subtle without any of the blatant and crassness of the Chinese-fusion cuisine which some modern Chinese restaurants try so hard to impress. Unusual twist to traditional home-cooked fare such as the dong po pork with mei cai, or a simple and yet refreshing Japanese tomato dish with sesame wasabi sauce never disappoint.
